About Restaurante Vale do Douro
Restaurante Vale do Douro is a Portuguese restaurant, serving dishes inspired by the Douro region in northern Portugal. Traditionally decorated with a special painting from Douro on one of the walls, Vale do Douro offers visitors a lovely setting to enjoy regional specialities. The restaurant is light and spacious and the outside dining area is ideal for a warm day and for smokers.
The menu has a good selection of fresh fish and seafood dishes, meat such as grilled spare ribs, pepper steak and lamb cuttlets, a good value children's menu and a range of starters, salads, omelettes and pastas. The prices are very reasonable, and a meal for 2 with wine can cost just over 20€.

Vale do Douro is open from 12.00 to 15.00 and 18.00 to 22.00 (23.00/24.00 during the Summer). Closed on Tuesdays (but open Tuesday evening during the Summer). Closed December to January 15th.

Vale do Douro offers a tourist menu, consisting of a starter, main course and dessert or coffee for 9,50€
Starter: Choice of vegetable soup, chicken salad or tomato with mozzarella.
Main course: Choice from 3 fish dishes (egg fish, tuna steak Algarvian style or fresh salmon) and 3 meat dishes (grilled chicken with or without piri piri sauce, turkey steak with mushrooms and pork fillet with bacon and sauce).

- Starters from 1,80€ for vegetable soup to 10€ for clams "Bulhão Pato" style.
- Salads from 3€ for a mixed salad (lettuce, tomato, onion) to 8,50€ for a tropical salad (with pineapple, mango, shrimps and cocktail sauce).
- Omelettes from 5€ for a plain one to 7,50€ for a shrimp omelette.
- Pastas from 8,00€ for spaghetti bolognese to 10,50€ for spaghetti with tomato, vodka, cream and salmon.
- Fish dishes from 8€ for fried sole fillet to 30€ for cataplanas for 2 people and codfish with shrimps or smoked ham for 2.
- Meat dishes from 7,50€ for spare ribs, turkey steak with mushrooms and small steak with egg to 13,50€ for mixed fillet and shrimps kebab.
- Children's menu from 2€ for a portion of spaghetti, rice or chips to 4€ for mini-bolognese, hamburger with egg or sausages with egg.
- White wine from 5,50€ per bottle and 4€ for a half bottle, red wine from 6,50€ per bottle and 4,50€ for a half bottle, rose wine from 8€ per bottle and 6€ for half and green wines from 7,50€ per bottle and 5€ for half.
