About Branco e Preto Bar Restaurant
Branco e Preto is right on the beach in Monte Gordo (to the left of the tourist information office) and you can be assured of a warm welcome by Sandra, the Dutch owner. It is a beach restaurant with enormous character and charm and really not to be missed. There are several different dining areas each with their own unique decor and in the winter when it's too chilly for the open air garden room to be used a very cosy room with a log burner is opened up.
The sheltered veranda at the front of Branco e Preto is inviting for a cool drink on a hot summer day and in the slightly cooler months there is seating on the seaward side to enjoy the sunshine and the view.
Branco e Preto's menu offers a good range of tempting options with starters including garlic bread, melon and smoked ham, tapas with cheeses and soup of the day. Main courses include chicken fillet, pork loin, Egyptian kebab, T-bone steak, Indonesian kebab and vegetarian specials as well as a special children's menu with dishes like spare ribs and fish fillets - so there is certainly something for everyone to enjoy.
Branco e Preto have a special Chicken Piri-piri night on Thursdays during the summer and in the winter this changes to a cosy get together around a Fondue pot. Occasionally there will be some live (or should that be lively!) music to entertain the diners but the only time you will find a TV on is when Holland are playing football!
Branco e Preto organise special Christmas and New Year celebrations which are very popular so pre-booking for those is essential.

Opening times:
Branco e Preto opens from 10.00 till late during the winter. The kitchen closes at 22.00. During the summer it opens from 14.00 till late and the kitchen closes at 22.00.
Branco e Preto opens every day but closes for the hottest month of the year - August.
Directions:
Branco e Preto is on the beach front to the left (eastern side) of the tourist information office. There is a wooden ramp from the promenade direct to the restaurant.
